Sexual
Orientation
Sexual orientation is a person’s sexual identity in relation
to the sex to which they are attracted; the fact of being heterosexual,
homosexual, or bisexual. It is about who you are attracted to and want to have intimate relationships with. There are several types of sexual orientations
that are commonly described as:
a a)
Hetrosexual:
Hetrosexuality is also called straight sexuality. People who are
heterosexual are romantically and physically attracted to the members of the
opposite sex: males are attracted to females, and females are attracted to
males.
b b)
Homosexual (gay or lesbian): People who are homosexual are romantically
and physical attracted to people of the same sex; females are attracted to
other females; males are attracted to other males. Male homosexuals are called
‘gays’ whereas female homosexual are called ‘lesbians’.
c c)
Bisexual: People who are bisexual are
romantically and physically attracted to the members of both sexes.
d d) Transsexual: Transsexual people
experience a gender identity that is inconsistent with, or not culturally
associated with their assigned sex and desire to permanently transition to the
gender with which they identify, usually seeking medical assistance to help
them align their body with their body with their identified sex. True
transsexual feel that they belong to the
other sex; they want to be function as members of the opposite sex, not only to
appear as such. For them, their sex organs, the primary (testes) as well as the
secondary (Penis and others) are disgusting deformities that must be changed by
surgery.
